People who are new to boating and are looking for a small, affordable runabout should look at a Sea Ray 175 sport. Sea Ray has a reputation for quality and affordability that makes it somewhat of a benchmark in the industry. The simple fact is that by the time someone who is looking for a runabout has his or her list down to three of four boats to choose from, a Sea Ray is probably on that list.Storage is often an issue with a boat this size. The 175 Sport has an in-floor compartment that follows the lines of the deck to gain more volume, and the hatch opens (and stays open) with a nice gas-assist strut. Storage also runs underneath the stern seat, but the nicest compartments are under each corner of the sun pad which is a great 6'3" x 3'. All compartments are either finished fiberglass or carpeted, which says a lot about the attention to detail in the boat overall. The bow cockpit ( if the sunpad is taken) is another good spot to get your tan on, as there's enough room for two adults to stretch out and soak up the sun. The transom bench seats three, so along with the bucket seats, the comfortable passenger load stands at seven. Overall, the 175 Sport is an all-around solid family bowrider.The 135-hp MerCruiser 3.0L Alpha One stern drive provides solid performance numbers. With two adults onboard and a full 21 gallons of fuel, the 175 Sport planed in 4.5 seconds and hit 30 mph in fewer than 10. It could hold plane at 13 mph and 2300 rpm. It will provide enough power for tubers and boarders.This engine was replaced by Mercury ( previous found to have undiagnosable issue) and has a Transferable Warranty till 2016. At the helm the driver has a good line of sight to all gauges, and both he and the passenger have molded-in footrests under the consoles.This boat is exceptionally clean with around 150 hours of use since new engine installed. The engine runs fantastic and everything works as it should. The boat is loaded with features including a stereo system, full cover set, life jackets, anchor, bimini top with boot and much more! This boat has tons of room for the family and is perfect for cruising to the sand bar or tubing! The boat will run 40 mph all day long sipping fuel. The boat sits on the original sea ray trailer that is in good condition.
